In our competitive world, we are constantly looking for strategies that produce more efficient, more sustainable, more intelligent solutions for engineering applications. Nature is the best engineer and moving forward in the design and manufacture of functionally tailored materials implies turning to natural solutions.

Natural structures are fascinating: bones, quills, plants stems, trees trunks, etc. Years of evolution have perfected their functionality and porous architecture. Moving forward in structural design is, somehow, going back to basics.
